AMD to launch Bulldozer products in June

First AMD processors of latest generation were presented in the beginning of 2011. Those were the models of entry level and demonstrated AMD’s first attempt to combine CPU and GPU on a single piece of silicon. According to numerous tests on Internet and PC manufacturers’ replies, this was quite successful move. More powerful processor models, based on Bulldozer die, are to release in Q2 2011. As reputable Internet sources state, this should happen during the week starting on 20th day of the month which is June.

These 32nm processors will have integrated DDR3 memory controller but don’t feature integrated graphics. It is expected to be promoted under FX-series naming. First, there will be eight model presented:

• four FX8000 models (eight-cores, 16MB cache)
• two FX6000 models (six-cores)
• two FX4000 models (quad-cores)

Detailed specifications are yet unknown while rumors say that 8-core Bulldozer processor is 50% faster than Intel Core i7 950 (quad-cores, eight threads) and Phenom II X6 1100T (six-cores).
