Aquaero USB 4.0 controller review

This device lets you control fans in reference with temperatures in control points, as well as it can be used to create supervision and control complex for watercooling systems (WCS), that can eve shut down PC in case of a system crash



Power voltage:
  • Uses +5 V and +12 V via a standard Molex type 8981 connector
LED control:
  • One 3-pin Molex KK connector for 1 two-colored or 2 one-colored LEDs with maximum load of 20 mA
Power Suply turn on / off control:
  • One 2-pin connector in relay circuit. Maximum switching power : 12 V and 1 A
  • One 2-pin connector connected to +5 V Standby to power the device in standby mode
Fan control:
  • Four 3-pin Molex KK connectors with RPM signal support. Maximum load is 10 Watt per channel, current is limited to 1 A. Total maximum load is 30 watts.
Sensor connection:
  • Six 2-pin inputs for 10kOm NTC sensors
  • One 3-pin Molex KK connector for flow sensor connection
  • One 5-pin internal USB connector
  • One 3-pin Molex KK Aquabus bus connector
  • One Aquastream pump connector, up-to 2 pumps can be connected at the same time
  • One additional Molex KK connector for other Aqua Computer device connection

Thermal sensor connection is organized via two-wire cord. The sensor itself is a thermistor; basically it is a simple resistor and its resistance changes depending on the temperature. TFF-103 thermistors are used.


TTF-103 specification:

  • Negative temperature coefficient (NTC)
  • Operating range: от -40°C до +100°C
  • Resistance at 25°C: 10 kOm
  • Accuracy: ±5% at 25°C
