ASUS MATRIX GTX 580 Platinum — now official
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 based solution got custom PCB design with 19-phase power system and on-board control buttons, 1536MB of GDDR5 memory and clock rates 816/1632/4008 MHz and DirectCU II cooler
We first met ASUS MATRIX GTX 580 Platinum rihgt before the start of Computex 2011 exhibition where it was later revealed in publicity. Now, the novelty is officially added to company’s product portfolio with the following name: ASUS MATRIX GTX580 P/2DIS/1536MD5.
Lets recall technical specification of ASUS ROG MATRIX GTX 580 Platinum: the card is based on NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 solution with a custom PCB design, 1536MB of GDDR5 memory and clock rates, as follows — 816/1632/4008 MHz. Power system features Super Alloy Power components and includes 19-phase electric circuit. Additional power is drawn two three 8-pin PCI-e connectors.
Direct voltage measurement is arranged via on-board contact pads called ProbeIt; TweakIt buttons provide direct voltage control for GPU; in case of failure, there is a button to set setting to default. Colored light feature, MATRIX LED, indicates real-time GPU load.
The temperatures are maintained by high-performance cooling system based on direct contact heatpipes technology, a.k.a DirectCU II. The back side of the card is covered with protective housing.
Monitor connections is delivered by two DVI, one HDMI and one DisplayPort. On the other hand, the card has one serious drawback — ASUS MATRIX GTX 580 Platinum is 2.6 Slot wide. The rest dimensions are: 292 x 127 mm.
