North America subdivision of ASUSTeK Computer has announced the availability of high-end ROG Maximus IV GENE-Z motherboard through Twitter and Facebook accounts. The motherboard is target commonly at gamers and hardware enthusiasts and is based on Intel Z68 Express which means support of Sandy Bridge processors with Socket LGA 1155.
ASUS ROG Maximus IV GENE-Z features four DIMM slots supporting up-to 32GB of DDR3-2200 memory, a pair of PCI-Express x16 slots with SLI and CrossifireX support a well as one PCI-Express x4 expansion slot. Besides, the novelty comes with HDMI port and LucidLogix Virtu technology providing dynamic switching between integrated and discrete graphics systems depending on resource intensiveness of the application.
ASUS ROG Maximus IV GENE-Z is made to Micro-ATX form-factor with CPU power stability supported by 8-phase design. As a member of ROG family, this model includes numerous propriety options including ROG Connect and on-board Power/Reset/Clear CMOS buttons.
