According to the latest news from motherboard manufacturers, Intel 6 series chipsets (B3 stepping) that lack design error will hit the market in April. Meanwhile, Intel has already published the batch numbers for B3 stepping of Cougar point chipsets on the web-site:
This can’t tell much to an ordinary user as chipsets are usually covered by heatsinks and its batch numbers can’t be read easily, but for hardware diagnosis tools such identification info is helpful in order to tell one stepping from the other when using specified software.
At the moment, we can make the following table of batch number changes for 6-series hubs:
|Intel controller hub||Old Spec Code (Stepping)||New Spec Code (Stepping)|
|BD82P67||SLH84 (B2)||SLJ4C (B3)|
|BD82H67||SLH82 (B2)||SLJ49 (B3)|
|BD82HM67||SLH9C (B2)||SLJ4N (B3)|
|BD82HM65||SLH9D (B2)||SLJ4P (B3)|
