ColorFire Radeon HD 6790 goes Dual-Bios

Custom cooled and custom PCB card with several overclocking features

While official launch of AMD Radeon HD 6790 is said to be on 5th of April, leaks on AIBs versions’ of the card continue to spread in Internet. Expreview has published some picture of a custom cooled HD 6970 card made by Colorfire, which is affiliated undertaking of Colorful company.


According to photos available, ColorFire Radeon HD 6790 will have non-reference cooling system similar to what от ColorFire Xstorm HD 6870 has. Besides, the novelty due to non-standard PCB layout features Dual-BIOS technology and OCP Unlocker option


The last option makes ColorFire Radeon HD 6790 more appealing for overclockers and hardware enthusiasts. The power subsystem uses 4+1 phase design and comes with high-quality ferrite inductors and Japan NCC condensers as well as voltage measurement points and two six-pin power connectors.

Regarding card’s performance config, ColorFire Radeon HD 6790 based on 40nm Barts LE GPU has 800Stream Processors, 40 TMUs and 1GB of GDDR5 memory running trough a 256-bit wide interface. The outputs connectors numbers two DVI, one HDMI and one DisplayPort. Clock rates for GPU and memory are not reveled, however, its is expected to be around 840/4200 MHz. Price wise, the card costs $167.80.
