Corsair begins supply of Force Series GT SSDs

Corsair company has announced the start of delivery for Force Series GT solid state drives line-up: 60, 120 and 240GB. SSDs are of 2.5inch form factor and come with SATA 6Gb/s interface while also being back compatible with SATA 3Gb/s standard.

Drives are based on SandForce SF-2280 controller that allow Force Series GT to reach extra high data transfer rates: up-to 555 MB/s for read and up-to 525 MB/s for write. As for writes with random access to 4Kb blocks, the novelty performance amounts to 85000 IOPS.

Models of 60 and 120Gb should become available in July for a price of $149 and $279 respectively. Together with the SSD you get a 3.5 adapter for fast and easy mount inside PC.
