G.SKILL is one of few companies nowadays that continues to focus mainly on flash device manufacturing such as Memory modules and SSDs. It was founded back in 1989 by a group of hardware enthusiasts and now G.SKILL is leading memory manufacturer in Taiwan. Companies main targets — finest quality products and great attention to requirements of its customers.

Together with the presentation of new Sandy Bridge platform in January 2011, Taiwan memory manufacturer has released a set of DDR3 memory kits of “Ripjaws X” series designed specifically for this platform. According to G.SKILL each kit is hand-tested on this platform to guarantee its 100% workability at declared specifications.

The company was kind enough to provide one of such kits for our lab. Received Memory modules operate at 1600Mhz CL9-9-9-24 with only 1.5 Volts. But the interesting part is that it is an 8 GB kit (2х4 GB).

G.SKILL Ripjaws X 1600MHz DDR3 CL9 8 GB memory modules use Hynix chips and 6-layer black PCB. The kit is available at a retail price of $49.99 in majority of USA computer stores. Let’s move into more details about this kit.
