GA-990FXA-UD7 — the TOP 17 Gigabyte motherboard with Socket AM3+

Support for FX, Phenom II and Athlon series CPUs, 8+2 VRM power system, six PCIe x16 slots, one PCI, x8 SATA 6Gb/s, 2x eSATA 6Gb/s, 14x USB 2.0 and 4x USB 3.0

Officially presented Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD7 motherboard is based on AMD 990FX + SB950 chipsets and and Socket AM3+. Processor compatibility list includes new FX series (a.k.a Bulldozer) models, as well as back compatibility with Phenom II and Athlon family products with Socket AM3. Specified Hyper Transport bus throughput is 5200 MT/s. CPU is powered using Driver MOSFETS arranged in 8+2 phase design circuit. Four DIMM slots provide installation of up-to 32GB of dual channel DDR3 memory with speed specification up-to 2000MHz (O.C.).

Three are six PCI Express x16 slots available for discrete graphics cards operating by the following scheme: x16 + x16 + x8 + x8 + x4 + x4. Only one PCI expansion slot can by found on the board.

SB950 South Bridge provides six SATA 3 and fourteen USB 2.0 ports, two more SATA 3 and eSATA 3 ports are brought by Marvell 88SE9172 controller. Etron EJ168 controller offers two USB 3.0 ports located on back panel and two more inside ports.

Integrated 8-channel audio codec, Realtek ALC889, has support for Dolby Home Theater, while Realtek RTL8111E chip is used for network adapter.

Besides, GA-990FXA-UD7 features a list of Gigabyte’s proprietary technologies like DualBIOS, Xpress Install, Xpress Recovery2, EasyTune, Easy Energy Saver, Smart Recovery, Auto Green, ON/OFF Charge, Cloud OC, 3TB+ Unlock, Q-Share and many more.

Have GA-990FXA-UD7 Motherboard. Have 2 RAID 1 Drives mirrored on SATA ports 0 and 1. Can I mirror 2 other drives on SATA ports 4 and 5 for data storage only. I want 2 sets of mirrored drives independent of each other: one for system, programs, and data; the other for data backup only.
