GIGABYTE to reveal Intel X79 board at Computex

Five PCI Express 3.0! x16 slots and one PCI expansion slot, four memory DIMMs for DDR3 modules , fourteen! SATA ports (ten of them are of SATA 3 standard) and many more

On receipt of the news GIGABYTE plans to show a very promising product — GA-X79A UD3 — at Computex 2011 that starts tomorrow. The novelty is a motherboard based on Intel X79 chipset dedicated for Sandy Bridge-E processors with Socket LGA-2011.

As this board, as well as Sandy Bridge-E processors, is targeted mainly at hardware enthusiast its layout includes five PCI Express 3.0(!) x16 slots and one PCI expansion slot, four memory DIMMs for DDR3 modules, fourteen(!) SATA ports (ten of them are of SATA 3 standard), Gigabit Ethernet adapter, several USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports and a common set of multi-channel audio inputs/outputs.

It is obvious that current outlook of GA-X79A UD3 is something between engineering sample and retail product. This means that some changes may occur during final steps of manufacturing, however, its present appearance is enough to become a special thrill on Taipei exhibition.
