MSI kicks off Radeon HD 6950 Twin Frozr II custom design cards

Custom design graphics cards to provide superior cooling and silent Performance

MSI introduced Radeon HD 6950 Twin Frozr II custom-designed graphics cards targeted at high-performance segment. These AMD’s second-generation DirectX 11 graphics cards are based on Cayman Pro GPU made using 40nm process technology.

Unlike reference design Radeon HD 6950, MSI Twin Frozr II models are equipped with large surface copper cooling base and high density heat sink with five for better heat dissipation and dual 8CM PWM fans to provide sufficient air flow and enhance thermal conductivity to improve cooling performance and reduces noise output. New cooling system allows the card to run 6 degrees cooler and 19.6 dB quieter than reference design Radeon HD 6950 card. The cards have 2GB of GDDR5 memory clocked at 5000MHz and running trough a 256-bit memory bus and 1408 Stream processors. That is the common for both MSI R6950 Twin Frozr II and and R6950 Twin Frozr II/OC cards. As you know OC means factory overclocked, in fact, R6950 Twin Frozr II/OC card has GPU clocks increased by only 10Mhz resulting in 810Mhz.

Both cards support multiple video card operation in CrossfireX mode. With the help of on-board DVI, HDMI and two Mini-DisplayPort connectors and AMD Eyefinity technology, the cards can be used in multi-monitor configurations. New MSI R6950 Twin Frozr II and and R6950 Twin Frozr II/OC cards are expected to hit the market soon, yet the price is unknown.
