Mushkin presents high-end Chronos series SSD
Chronos is noted to be the first Mushkin made SSD to actually combine SandForce SF-2281 and SATA 3. Speed rates are 560/530 for write/read, 90,000IOPS for 4k random writes.
Mushkin has introduced it newest Chronos SSD targeted at gamer and enthusiast high-performance systems.
The novelty is made to 2.5 inch form-factor and runs on SandForce SF-228 controller. The SSD uses Flash memory chips of MLC type manufactured with 28nm technology logic. The device is equipped with SATA 3 interface. Chronos is noted to be the first Mushkin made SSD to actually combine SandForce SF-2281 and SATA 3. There will be two models depending on capacity: 120 and 240 GB. Both models feature speed rate of 560MB/s for read and 530MB/s for write. IOPS for 4Kb random writes account to 90.000.
Mushkin Chronos is expected to hit retail by the end of this month. Prices are yet unknown.
In addition, there will be Chornos Deluxe version hitting the market same time. The last is said to have specs similar to Chronos with its unique features that are not disclosed.
