New AMD graphic cards in November?

AMD is planning to start selling graphic cards based on new generation GPUs (Southern Islands) in November 2010

AMD is planning to start selling graphic cards based on new generation GPUs (Southern Islands) in November 2010. Official announcement of novelties will be presented this year in October.

To enhance the competitiveness of its products and to free price segments of the market for more efficient next-generation video cards we can expect price reduction for the current series of ATI Radeon HD 5000 graphic cards.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) made its own adjustments in plans of AMD. As we know, microchip manufacturer refused to upgrade production for 32nm process technology, instead, it began construction of factory for production of more advanced technology of 28nm. As a result, AMD was forced to change its plans to produce new generation GPU based on 32nm chips with a codename Northern Islands to GPU Southern Islands which is base on advanced 40nm chips.

Amd company refused to comment this information.
