Patriot equips its SSDs with SandForce-2200 chips
Thanks to that, new SSDs can now get full use of SATA 6.0 Gbps intrafece reaching sequential read/write speeds of up-to 555MB/s and 520MB/s respectively.
Patriot company has released new SSD line-up called Wildfire that stands out by being based on SandForce SF-2200 controllers. Thanks to that, new SSDs can now get full use of SATA 6.0 Gbps interface reaching sequential read/write speeds of up-to 555MB/s and 520MB/s respectively.
William Lai, Patriot Memory’s Product Manage, says:
The Patriot Wildfire is the fastest SSD drive we have ever released. Although we are a bit late to market, we wanted to ensure that the technology was rock-solid. We are confident with the latest firmware, Patriot’s reputation for quality and performance stand second-to-none
Wildfire series SSDs are made to 2.5-inch form-factor and support TRIM. Other than that, 4K random writes account to about 85.000 IOPS. The extend of delivery includes a 3.5-inch adapter for easier SSD assembly inside PC case.
At the moment, there are only two models available: 120GB and 240GB. A 480GB version of Patriot Wildfire SSD should arrive a bit later.
