The start of sales for Marvell controller based Micron RealSSD C400 Solid State Drives (SSD) with high-speed SATA 6.0 Gbps interface has began. It is said, that the SSD are already available for purchase (at least in USA) and should compete greatly against products of Intel 510 series drives.
Therefore, the variety for hardware enthusiasts using fast-operating SSDs int their PCs has expanded with quite speedy and high-quality solutions. New RealSSD C400 drives are of 2.5-inch form-factor and use 25nm MLC NAND chips (Intel 510 Series drives use 34nm MLC NAND Flash memory).
RealSSD C400 features MTBF of up-to 1.2 million hours, while they deliver a random 4kB read/write performance of up to 40.000/50.000 IOPS, respectively. According to Micron, sequential read/write speeds for these SSDs are 415/95 MB/s, 415/175 MB/s and 415/260 MB/s for 64GB, 128GB and 512GB models. The price for C400-series drive are, as follows:
